Campus
Wide Network Management: Kuvempu University Library
has achieved the remarkble and memorable task in successfully
establishing and maintaining the Campus Wide Network under
UGC-Infonet Project. Network Operation Centre in the Digital
Library Section of the library controlling and monitoring the
entire campus Internet connectivity through BB VSAT 256 kbps
speed. Around 200 nodes have been connected through out the
campus in different blocks. The entire campus network
maintaining through a High Ended Proxy Server Computer. |

Digital Library: University Digital Library has been established
on 27-05-2005.
This was inagurated by Prof. Nigavekar, Chairman, UGC, New Delhi. Different
service activities have been offered to the academic community for their
research and academic purpose by supplying the information available locally and
globally through internet. In this direction the University Library has already
initiated and collected e-resources in physical form viz., CD-ROM's, Audio
Cassettes, Floppy Disk's etc., also providing the facility to access e-journals,
e-databases, abstracts & indexes under UGC-Infonet E-Consortia Programme. |

Network Operation Centre (NOC): |

University
Library has taken and sucessfuly implemented UGC-Infonet Project
by establishing Campus Wide Network in the main Campus. Campus
Wide Network has been maintained & controlled through Network
Operation Centre. This Network Operation Centre has been
established in the Digital Library of the University Library and
maintained by University Library.

On-Line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC): |
|
Online Public
Access Catalogue(OPAC) facility has been provided for the benefit of the
users to access databases of books, thesis, dissertations and serials of
our university collection. Proper training is also provided to the
students, about the use of OPAC system, in the begining of the
academic year.

| Electronic
Learnig Resource Centre(ELRC): |
|
ELRC
Centre has been setup in the library with 24 computers and well
furnished spacious seating arrangements for using internet facility. 24
students can access the e-resources at a time. The library monitor the
centre and assist the students in accessing downloading e-resources
based on their requirement. CD-Writing, Printing of download information
facility is also made for the benefit of the users.

WEB &
E-Mail Services: The University Library is actively
involved in designing, developing, hosting and
maintaining the university website since 2000.
At present the University is maintaining its own Web Server
for hosting University Website in the digital
library of the University Library. Also
the University providing e-mail id's to all
officers, teaching faculty of the university
through creating and maintaining its own
Mail Server in the Digital Library. Both
Web server and Mail Server are maintained by
University Library. |
