The UGC-Infonet programme is a joint venture undertaken by UGC and INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad to promote electronic information resource sharing activity among major University Libraries in the country. The Kuvempu University has signed MOU for UGC-Infonet Programme with UGC-INFLIBNET on 16-12-2002. As per the MOU, the physical connection was already established by ERNET-India, New Delhi with a 128 Kbps Broadband VSAT on that is  upgraded to 256 Kbps. The Electronic resource distribution is being made by INFLIBNET Centre to the Universities  through  the  exclusive  network established  and  maintained  by ERNET - India. On behalf of ERNET-India, HCL-Comnet has installed VSAT equipment on 06-02-2004 at Kuvempu University Library. The University has deputed its personnel to attend the training programmes conducted by both Inflibnet Centre, Ahmedabad and ERNET India, New Delhi under UGC-Infonet Programme. 

       Network Operation Centre has been setup in the University Library. The Network server, Web server, Mail server along with VSAT equipment are functioning in Network Operation Centre of the University Library. The University has established a Campus Wide Network with OFC backbone and providing Internet Services with the help of BB 256 Kbps VSAT to all its Post-Graduate departments, Hostels, Guest House, Health Centre, Engineering Division and Administrative offices through out the campus with around 200 computers interconnected. The University utilizing this programme both for its academic and administrative purposes and intended to create e-learning and e-governance environment. 

       Under the UGC-Infonet e-resource consortia  programme  this university  library  is  providing e-journals service to its users. The following is the list of e-resources available under this programme with their URL (website addresses).
